    north island

I spent almost 1/2 year in New Zealand. I did an internship for webdesign ltd. in Auckland. My "homeland" was also the north island of New Zealand. I made almost every weekend trips to the awesome places there.

    I. Auckland:
Auckland is a very cosmopolitan city - a dynamic blend of cultures and lifestyes. Auckland is also my "home". It's such an awesome city. The "City of Sails" has two harbours, as well as volcanic cones, awesome beaches and scenic offshore islands.

    II. Bay of islands:

A very popular holiday spot in Northland is the Bay of Island. It is famous for its beautiful beaches, historic associations and mild climate. There you can swim with dolphins, cruises, fishing or visiting historic villages. The Treaty of Waitangi, was signed here!

    III. Cap Reinga:

Far north in Northland is Cap Reinga. The Cap is about 100 km north of Kataia. Even the last 20 km to the cap is on an unspoilt road. It's amazing there, because the water of the South Pacific and the water of the Tasman Sea collide there.

    IV. 90 Miles Beach:

Ninety Mile Beach is a beach located on the western coast of the far north of the North Island of New Zealand. The beach stretches from just west of Kaitaia towards Cape Reinga along the Aupouri Peninsula.

    V. Coromandel:

Coromanel is located on the western side of the Coromandel Pensinula on the scenic coastal road back to the boom goldrush years of the 1860s.

    VI. Taupo:

This lively town on the shore of New Zealand's largest lake bustles with years-round activitiy. This lake is popular for swimming, boating, kayaking, waterskiing, rowing and scenic cruises as well as bungy jumping, skydiving or jetboating

    VII. Napier:

This city is famous as the art deco capitao of New Zealand. Rhe Hawke's Bay earthquake in 1931 destroyed the city. After that the city was rebuild in the art deco style.

    VIII. Waiheke Island:

Waiheke Island is in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand and is located about 17.7 km (about 35 minutes by ferry) from Auckland.

    IX. Rotorua:

At the heart of Central North Island's volcanic plateau, Rotorua is an area of intense thermal activity, lakes, Meori culture and natural beauty - an exciting city to visit

    X. The Mount:

Mt. Maunganui is one of the most popular holiday destinations in New Zealand. Its amazing, standing on top of the mount with a great view to the town, the habour and the ocean...
